This art piece by Jenny Holzer captured my attention for a long while. This is the art that make me think about life. "Some never cook because they have nothing to eat". This sentence is as powerful as an image of a starving children. These words triggered images in my mind and generated feelings like a needle poked into my heart. I have heard stories from my father about the great famine period in China. The tastiest food for him are usually associated with a story of how hard he tried to obtain the food. For example, one the most delicious food he had in his life was the snake in the water he caught with his friend during the time when they were starving for days. Similar to him, my memories are usually associated with food I ate, but of course, my stories are plain compared to his. Because I am lucky to born at a place without war. Everything is so easy to get, and most of the time, I forgot what were things that made my life so precious.
This summer, I tried to write down my thoughts about the food I ate and the art I liked. Check it out if you feel hungry for food or hungry for art.
